What a Unitree IPO means for the humanoid industry

Lead strip: Status: Public listing reported (STAR Market) + public developer SKUs · Availability: G1/R1 list-price channels; industrial RaaS fleets thinner · All-in cues: G1 from ~US$13.5k; R1 from ~US$4.9k; IPO valuation/day-one moves verify live · Scoring: methodology
Evidence brief only — not a sold ranking. A listing is a capital-markets signal. Public G1/R1 prices are buy-surface evidence. Neither automatically equals Digit-class industrial RaaS fleet hours.
Unitree Robotics (Hangzhou) became a focal point for “humanoid IPO” coverage in 2026 as China A-share markets priced a pure-play embodied-robotics story. For operators and labs, the useful split is: what the listing signals about capital markets, what Unitree’s public catalog SKUs already prove about price transparency, and what still gaps versus industrial RaaS fleets. Start from the product pages that already exist: Unitree G1 and Unitree R1.
H1 / H2 appear in Unitree’s broader humanoid lineup in company and secondary materials; we do not invent /robots/unitree-h1/ or /robots/unitree-h2/ hrefs here — text context only until product pages exist.
TechNode’s 20 August 2026 report states Unitree debuted on the Shanghai STAR Market under ticker 688836.SH, priced at RMB 150.80 per share, issuing 40,446,434 new A-shares and raising roughly RMB 6.099 billion (TechNode).
Earlier prospectus / registration coverage described a planned raise on the order of ~RMB 4.2 billion and an implied valuation near ~RMB 42 billion before final pricing — useful as filing context, but final proceeds and first-day market cap can differ from prospectus targets. Treat day-one valuation and aftermarket moves as live market data to re-check on the exchange, not as frozen facts in this brief.
Industry signal (capital markets): a listed, revenue-bearing humanoid/quadruped maker gives public investors a rare pure-play comparable — distinct from private rounds at Figure-class or Optimus IR narratives.
Not proved by listing alone: that Unitree’s developer bodies match warehouse RaaS uptime, automotive sequencing complexity, or third-party industrial SLAs. Listing ≠ Digit-class field certificate.
Unitree’s clearest buyer receipts in our shortlist are transparent list prices, not IPO headlines:
That price transparency scores under our methodology availability and price transparency buckets in a way most industrial humanoid programs do not. It does not automatically score paid industrial deployments or third-party logistics record.
H1 (full-size) and newer H2 SKUs appear in Unitree’s catalog / shop as contact-or-list products in secondary and company pages; confirm live list vs “contact sales” before treating them as G1/R1-class transparency. Unverified H1/H2 commercials here: — as scored list prices on Robotscomparison product pages (no H1/H2 robot pages yet).
TechNode cites a sharp humanoid revenue shift: humanoid revenue from roughly RMB 2.96 million in 2023 (<2% of total) to about RMB 868 million in 2025 (>51% of revenue), with 2025 total revenue near RMB 1.699 billion and reported net profit attributable to shareholders near RMB 278 million (TechNode).
Other secondary IPO digests cite prospectus shipment figures (e.g. 5,500+ humanoid units in 2025) and slightly different profit constructions. Where secondary numbers conflict, prefer prospectus / exchange filings over blog roundups, and mark unaudited marketing tallies carefully. Shipment volume ≠ industrial RaaS hours.
Reading for the industry: Unitree shows that hardware SKUs + channel sales can produce revenue and (in reported figures) profit while many peers remain pre-revenue. That is a commercialization path, not proof that every G1 in a lab is a warehouse fleet peer.
Keep evidence lanes separate:
| Lane | Unitree G1/R1 (public) | Digit (Agility Robotics) | Figure 03 (Figure AI) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buy surface | List price / shop | Enterprise / RaaS | Enterprise partnership |
| Price transparency | High (published USD starts) | Contract — public per-unit — | Consumer list — |
| Named industrial ops narrative | Thinner in our shortlist | Named sites + hours/totes | BMW Spartanburg sequencing (partner) |
| Typical buyer today | Lab / EDU / developer | Logistics operators | Automotive / enterprise pilot |
Export controls, FCC Covered List dynamics, and regional certification can also constrain where a STAR-listed Chinese maker’s bodies ship — check local rules; we do not invent clearance status (— unless a primary regulator page is cited).
| Signal | Effect under methodology |
|---|---|
| STAR listing / public filings | Continuity + disclosure; market comparable |
| G1/R1 public prices | Supports price transparency / availability |
| Humanoid revenue share claims | Commercial traction — still company/filing figures |
| Digit-comparable multi-year tote hours | Not created by IPO alone (— until published) |
| Trophy “#1 humanoid stock” ranking | We do not sell rankings |
It means one high-volume hardware maker cleared a public listing path with reported product revenue. It does not graduate every humanoid announcement into paid multi-site fleets. Score each platform on its own deployments and buy surface (methodology).
G1 and R1 publish starting prices and shop channels (tax/shipping extra; EDU rules matter). That is a different buy surface from Digit or Figure enterprise partnerships. Confirm stock, export, and configuration with Unitree sales.
Price transparency: Unitree leads in public USD list prices. Industrial logistics field narrative: Digit’s published hours/totes and named sites are a stronger operational lane. Different buckets — not a trophy board.
Valuation is a market price for equity, not a tote count or a weld KPI. It can inform continuity and peer capital depth. It should not inflate paid-deployment or third-party-record scores without matching primary field evidence.
