Lead strip: Status: Pre-order (consumer NEO); Gamma = prior home-fit generation · Availability: public order path · All-in cues: $20,000 Early Access or $499/mo (vendor) · Primary: /robots/neo/ · Scoring: methodology
Evidence brief only — not a sold ranking. Home positioning ≠ verified household fleets.
1X Technologies built a rare story in humanoids: an explicit home focus, a Gamma generation engineered for domestic fit, then a commercial NEO pre-order with a published price path. Readers often collapse “NEO Gamma” headlines with today’s checkout SKU. This check separates what Gamma disclosed, what the consumer NEO order page states, and what independent household evidence still lacks. Product home: NEO.
On 21 February 2025, 1X published Introducing NEO Gamma as the next generation of home humanoids — hardware and AI changes “deeply considerate of life at home,” with CEO Bernt Børnich framing the goal as getting NEO into customers’ homes and starting internal home testing (Introducing NEO Gamma).
Gamma claims (vendor) include:
How to read Gamma: strong home-fit / development-generation disclosure. It is not by itself a multi-country verified delivery ledger. Treat Gamma as the design path that 1X says enabled consumer readiness — then check the later commercial launch separately.
In late October 2025, 1X announced the pre-order launch of NEO as a consumer-ready home humanoid succeeding prior models (NEO Gamma and NEO Beta) (Business Wire; 1X NEO page).
Published commercial terms (vendor):
| Item | 1X disclosure |
|---|---|
| Early Access ownership | $20,000 with priority delivery in 2026 |
| Subscription | $499/month (later ship timing vs Early Access) |
| Colors | Tan, Gray, Dark Brown |
| Geography | Primary U.S. deliveries 2026; other markets from 2027 |
| Order surface | 1x.tech/order |
Trade coverage notes a $200 deposit framing for Early Access in some reports (The Robot Report). Hardware marketing claims on the launch page include Tendon Drive compliance, soft lattice body, ~66 lb (≈30 kg) robot mass, lift/carry figures, and ~22 dB noise — all vendor claims to verify against delivered units.
Price transparency is unusually high for a home humanoid. That is a real evidence bucket win under our methodology. It does not automatically equal Digit-class third-party operational hours.
Documented well:
Still thin or — in public materials:
1X’s own order copy frames early autonomy as a starting point that improves over time (Redwood AI learning/repeating tasks). That is honest capability-growth language — not a promise of full unsupervised housework on day one. Score accordingly.

| Platform | Home buy narrative | Strongest public evidence class | Caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| NEO | Explicit home pre-order | Price path + vendor home-fit stack | Independent household fleet depth thinner |
| Figure 03 | Kitchen demos / housework R&D allocation | BMW factory sequencing (different lane) | Home demos ≠ retail home SKU |
| Unitree G1 | Not home-first | Public developer list price | Lab/EDU, not dwelling chore proof |
| Digit | Not home | Warehouse field hours/totes | Wrong job lane for home buyers |

Gamma was the February 2025 home-fit generation 1X used to argue domestic readiness. The public pre-order is branded NEO, described as succeeding Gamma and Beta. Confirm configuration and warranty on 1x.tech/order at purchase time.
Vendor Early Access ownership $20,000 or subscription $499/month, with U.S. priority deliveries framed for 2026. Taxes, shipping, deposits, and subscription start dates can change — re-check the live order page. Unlisted fees: —.
Public third-party household fleet metrics at that scale were still thin in mid-2026 reporting relative to industrial humanoid hour/tote narratives. Treat early ownership claims carefully; mark unverified dwelling KPIs as —.
1X emphasizes Tendon Drive compliance, soft covers, and quiet operation as home-safety design choices. That is vendor safety positioning, not a substitute for local regulations, insurance, or independent certification you can cite. Ask for the current safety documentation before unsupervised use.
